Best of Luck, Engas…

A whole week between updates! Well, I was pretty tired. Went to Bjorn’s (the guy who makes the Kranked movies) wedding on Saturday. What a great (albeit kooky) time. Very flattering company to be in, too. Hardly anyone was there. Just family and a couple of friends. He had it on the beach in Gibson’s, right by the ferry landing. They made us do some cool stuff like bless the rings in a big circle, and we had to dress up ‘creatively’ for the event. Then they made us do a ‘fertility’ dance, which looked suspiciously like the dance from the Full Monty. Religious duties were fulfilled by a Buddhist monk, and what a cool way to worship. I’m a practically spirutual person, and I was impressed by this man’s personal power. Very quiet, unassuming and supremely confident without being overbearing. I enjoyed it greatly. Unfortunately, due to some hereditary illness which bothers me from time to time, I had to return home instead of going on the cruise to Texada Island and partying ’till dawn like you are supposed to do on the solstice. Oh well, maybe on their 25th anniversary.

Back to riding. Big Andy cancelled. Bummer. He did have some pretty serious personal issues come up unexpectedly. He’ll be back, but I was all set up for the Big Man this year. His buddy Don showed up, though. We rode Seymour (A Section, CBC, Corcksrew, Pingu, Boogieman, Fed Bear, Kelly’s Trail), and Cypress (Upper and Lower Paul Hogan’s, Firhose, and…….). He showed up as the Michelin Man, with about 30 pounds extra padding. He kind of overheated. Oh well, another chance today. We will be taking some photos (finally) so maybe I will be able to dress this up a bit for a change.
