Last Ride

“This could be the last ride, this could be the last ride, it may be the last ride, but I don’t know….”

Tell ya what I do know, Mick. It’s bloody cold out today.

Although Dre and Ambrose had to head back yesterday, Wade and Bruno hung around for another day to get some more images and just have a visit.

We were a bit slow in the morning (I think there may have been a bourbon, a scotch, and some beers…),  but we got out for a few hours of work/play in the sun.

Yup, another tough one in the office.

Well, that’s pretty much a wrap on this season.  I might get another ride in, but the way the weather is coming in and the schedule is shaping up, I think some pow shots are on the horizon.  I leave you with this shot of Wade’s ass as he rides off into another sunset.

November Photo Shoot…Really?

Yeah, really.   Mountain Biking BC and Tourism BC are doing a whole series of seggies on the various riding destinations in BC, and they needed just a little bit more on the Penticton trails.  Yet again, Rocky Mountain is in the mix, and our old friend Ambrose was along to do the video.  Just to make it more of a party, we invited Bruno Long down to shoot a few stills.  Well, that and Wade and I are doing a little side project with a guide book and we can use all the images we can get.

It’s very cold now, unlike last week. That typhoon that rolled through the Arctic has fired a huge pool of cold air down, so it’s a good 30-40 degrees colder than a week ago.  But on the plus side, it’s stunningly beautiful out.   Dre seems to be pretty stoked.

Wade too.  It’s actually kind of nice when it’s a bit cooler like this.  Makes going back for another run at the shot much easier when you’re trying to stay warm.

Ready for the Golden Hour, boys?

Oh yeah.  Sunset is at 4, but at this time of year that magic light lasts a long time.  We worked this spot pretty hard, and the photogs seemed stoked with the results.

Like this shot that Bruno got…

How About Another T-Shirt Day?

I think I could handle another one of those.  A couple of guys from the coast saw all the trails getting listed on Trailforks.com, and decided to come up for the weekend.   Up first was Rock Oven, which at this time of year features some golden loam.

Much different from the gold they talk about on the coast.

Here’s Trev in a t-shirt, just to prove that it wasn’t too cold.

OK , it was kind of cold.   Or maybe the wind changed.  I don’t know.  This pic makes me laugh either way.

A couple of classic Rock Oven shots.

Sebastien hits some golden drifts.

Rock Oven may be good for a 5k’ descent, but we wanted more.  So we cracked off a second lap on the Bog for dessert.  We got some decent timing as we caught the last rays of sun near the bottom.

It’s still pretty dry in the mountains, but it looks like things are going to get cold this week.  Time to bundle up!
