Odds & Ends

A bunch of stuff to catch up on here.

I finally got my big bike a little while ago. It’s a Rocky Mountain RMX R2, with a few key mods. Upgrade on the fork to the 888RC, an MRP tensioner, and a lower cockpit courtesy of ChroMag and Freedom. A big shout out to Pete for hooking it up, and to Gabe at Cove Bikes for keeping me on the trail. as soon as I get up to speed, I’ll be doing a review on not only the R2, but also the Cove Peeler and the Dark Scarab.

CBC’s Canada Now did a story on the bike issues on the North Shore this week. Ooooh. National coverage. Here Sharon, Jeremy, Barb, and Harley get interviewed by CBC, on CBC. I got a few words in (as usual), and Barb and I rode a few lines for them.

Also on CBC this week…(insert your own joke here).

The CBC Ripper was a blast, and a bunch more support went into the NSMBA coffers. If you haven’t experienced a Ripper yet, you too should come and feel the power of the dark side.

CBC also has some new funding in the form of a government grant. Jeremey Power will be working on the trail all summer. Here’s a taste of things to come.

Some more Pennsylvanians showed up. They seem to be getting it figured out.

That’s it, you’re up to date.

Welcome to the Left Coast

Hi there Paul and Jen from Pennsylvania. How was your flight? Long? We should go kayaking then….

I never get bored of living here.

Jen was in town for a medical conference, so we only had time for a short rip in the afternoon. The next day we went for a half run on Seymour.

Jen, “You want me to do WHAT?”, ponders the line on Pangor.

Paul gets the job done.

Now, it might be just my imagination, but those two seemed very tired every afternoon. I don’t want you to jump to any conclusions prematurely or anything, but….

Ain’t love grand?

The Legend of Greyballs — Last Day

I get off, on ’57 Chevys….

The bodywork was super cool on this car. All molded in, 3-d flames.

The last day and we paid a visit to Keremeos. Check out this panorama and see if you can spot any promising lines.

We figured one out, and got on our way. It’s a pretty epic shuttle. It takes 45 minutes, and the road is rough enough that the MX boys (and girls) can have a good time on it.

…and so can the Porsche guys. Seems that our man here just won the big race for top-fuel Harley-Davidson drag bikes up in Ashcroft and decided to end his weekend painting in the alpine.

Sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction….

Oh right, the ride. No more boring you with useless narrative. Enjoy the pics.

Hey Bob! Look out for that giant beer!

And a bear on the side of the highway on the way back to town. Another epic weekend.

Happy Birthday Darcy.
