The Legend of Greyballs — Day 3

Rough night boys? You wanna skip the ride today?

It’s your loss then.

It’s a bit grey up here, but it’s still early in the day. Only 4000′ down and 30km back to town. Oh, what a bummer.

This trail sucks. You can’t even see the track half the time.

It’s so rocky too, and the view just sucks.

…and now it’s getting hot ’cause the sun is coming out.

Now, everybody climb!

Now, just act natural….

Bob gets some air.

More crappy views to distract you from the trail.

“We have ridden long and hard. Drinks! For all my friends!”

A big shout out to Hillside Estate for the primo trailside wine.

Say hello to my little friend.

Now that we’re buzzed, back to the ride.

It just keps going, and going, and…..

The final stretch, hub deep in Okanagan Lake. Luckily it was warm enough now that our feet didn’t stay wet for long.

More awesome classic cars.

And my personal fave, a 1970 LeMans.

We ended the day at the oyster bar in style.

What we were looking at out that window….

The birthday boy, missing out. Oh well, maybe next time.

The Legend of Greyballs — Day 2

Mountain bikes…pffffft. REAL men ride cruisers.

So, according to this picture, the clearance on the van with bikes is just a teensy bit under 11 feet. Guess I should try to write that down somewhere……

Today we rode two laps of Arawana. Here’s Dave getting warmed up…

Dom styles out a long skinny on his 3rd try.

One MASSIVE stepdown. No-one wanted to even try. That thing is a solid twenty vertical up in the air, and maybe twenty-five out. Way bigger than it looks in that crappy pic.

Railing the corners at the bottom.

Some sweet canyon bottom singletrack.

The infamous liquid lunch.

Sure it was a long run, but one is never enough. Even though everyone tried to weasel out of a second one, it’s the second run that makes the day.

Bob checks his sphincter on the sidehill.

The Birthday Boy in the canyon again.

Barracho on the same line.

End of the line. Pass me a beer willya?

Of course, one beer leads to another, and the next thing you know we are rock stars.

Like all good rock stars, after trashing the hotel we went out partying. Nite Moves never disappoints on the long weekend.

“Can you make him go away please?”

The Legend of Greyballs — Day 1

The first day of riding. How excellent for us.

Well, for most of us anyway.

You weren’t dfrinking last night, were you Johnny?

Good thing we’re only doing 7 000′ of vert today then.

The birthday boy gets some air.

So does Bob.

Ahh yes, classic cars on the May long weekend. Nice job, buddy.
