Lightning

Mother Nature’s been putting on quite a show lately.

I’m always trying to catch a pic of a bolt, but it’s not easy.  I guess I could spend a small fortune on a proper DSLR with motion detection, but I prefer to just try to be quick on the draw.

I think of it as practice for getting that picture of Bigfoot I’ve always wanted…

Derenzy Lake

In the never ending quest to find new and massive descents, this one has been a goal for a while.  We’ve been working our way back up the forest service roads looking for more of this moto-built trail for a while now.

Got it…

Russ (my co-guide on the Sacred rides trip last month), is British enough to see the fun in this kind of adventure.  Pretty sure we’re the first guys to ride bikes on the upper section.  The first mile had lots of mud holes and downed trees, but apart from that and a bit of a hike a bike just before the lake it was actually very rideable.

The lower sections I know well now.  The Derenzy DH.

…and of course Rock Oven (not the one up at Apex, or the one out at Naramata.  This is the one above Skaha. Doesn’t anyone have any original ideas for names around here?).

It’s a gooder…

Thanks to Vicky for doing the driving.  Hope her ribs are feeling better now.
