Mountain Biking with the Bush Pilot

Day 2 of the Florida Crew was Arawana.

A bit of a slower start today. Big breakfast and a 10:00 rollout. We drove out the other side of the lake to Naramata to hit the Arawana trails.

Ho hum, lots of skinnies and lots of air. It’s killer.

Here’s Donny about to turtle the landing. I still can’t figure out how he landed on his head from here.

These are a couple of shots from last year, but what the hell.

For lap two we did the second half of the trail while Gary and Donny took a break on the beach. On the way back down we ran into Chuck at FreeRideTours. Pretty funny to see all those extended vans on that road.

Anyway, beers on the beach and steaks on the bar-b-que. Killer day once again.

Mountain Biking in Penticton

So the Florida boys have come and gone. What a trip!

If you are wondering what the Florida scene is about, go to FreeRideSouth and have a gander.

Right away, their plane was delayed. Stuck in the sardine can on the tarmac in Phoenix for an extra hour. What luck. Then when they get here, I stuff them in the van for an extra hour.

They seemed pretty nervous driving on BC roads, too. Here’s what we went up, but we did it in the dark.

Anyway, we finally got to Ranch Relaxo and bedded down.

The first day we hit up the Peat Bog. Code 4 and Knuckleduster.

Here the boys are just about to be rudely awakened.

This is the chasm across at the beginning of Knuckleduster.

This is Jow showing the rest of the flatlanders how to drop in off a boulder.

This is Gary choking on it.
