Riding the Shore

OK, so I don’ t have any new pics for ya. I’m sorry. Didn’t have the correct USB for the Santo’s Crew to download their shots from yesterday. Which is really too bad ’cause we got some cool ones. Oh well. I’ll get those in a week or so.

Eric’s mob got in a little late on Wednesday nite, courtesy of the new rules instituted by US Customs. Mass hysteria at airports across North America.

Whatever.

So instead of getting in some bonus rounds on Weds nite, we loaded up the BBQ for a tailgate party atop West Vancouver and watched the fireworks. Cool.

Got up early on Thursday and put the bikes together while Barb cooked us up some breakfast burritos. Then we charged Seymour. Nothing outrageous to report, just a lot of fun riding. CBC, Corkscrew, Pingu, Pangor, secret lower Seymour stuff, another on CBC, Ned’s and out. Two runs. Anton had huck of the day on the six foot log drop on Ned’s. He got the full height on his hardtail but wrecked his Psylo in the process. Fried the lock out knob so that the compression spiked on every hit.

Ooops.

Barb let him ride the Pink Peeler out, so all was well.

Have fun at Shandro’s camp this week, boys.

Random Update

Not a lot to tell you today. I’m still waiting for pics to put up. C’mon Donny, ya slacker. Develop that roll.

Rode a bunch of ‘secret’ trails this morning. Got out there at 7 am, finished by 10:30. Two full runs.

Five guys from So-Cal are coming in this afternoos. We’re going to hit up a couple of shorties on Cypress, then bar-b-que it up at the lookout while the fireworks go off.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll have some pics for ya..

Riding In Kamloops

Third day was an epic. We got up early (like 5 am) so we could get to Kamloops in plenty of time to ride. Donny raved about the scenery the whole way.

“Sweet Gand-a-moly!”

Met up with P-Dub and the German at Full Boar for some laps of Rose Hill. Dub seemed to have a few problems with it.

Here’s the results…

This is where he did it.

ONe of the favourites of the day was the wall ride.

That seemed to get everyone on track for the first time of the trip. Then we went to the clay cliffs for a little reality check. Yes Donny, that’s the only way down.

There will be a bunch of video of this on FreeRideSouth in the next week or so. Keep checking their video page.

After three runs there we went to Harper Mountain for another run. It’s way more of the same stuff, without all the ruts.

Here’s Barb styling a high skinny.

…and on another.

Too bad we didn’t get any shots of the dust in there. I couldn’t even see my hands at one point.

Then we loaded up for the epic drive to Whistler. It was 40 degrees in Cache Creek when we went through. That’s about 105 for you ‘Mer-Cans. Finally got to Whistler at around midnite, and got some sleep in preparation for the big day ahead…..
