The Luck of the Irish

What a cliche…I know, but it was raining again, which is a classic cliche around these parts.

Anyway, Philip McNamara is not only Irish, but also a former Irish National XC Team member, and probably a Nat. Champion as well.

That Cove Peeler should feeel perfectly normal to you then…..

Well, I was joking, but apparently it was just peachy for Mr. McNamara.

The Shore in the rain, at high speed because he needed to get two runs in and catch a plane.

Oh yeah, he can ride skinnies too. It’s just like riding in the peleton, I tell ya.

Just gonna say hi to Ireland, including Glyn O’Brien and First Tracks Guiding before I wrap this one up.

‘Till the next one……

Stefan’s Last Day

Finally, I think he might be getting tired.

Well, the best way I know of to end a week of kickass riding is to go and get lost in the rain (what a surprise, it’s raining) on Cypress. Big Eye to be precise.

It’s always a bit of a trek, for sure.

..and that, as we say, was that. Well, we actually got another run in on Seymour, and had a big BBQ that night, and I didn’t have toride the next day, and I got a cold, and OH YEAH—we found a new trail….but you’ll just have to imagine all that stuff.

That Guy Again? How About Eagle?

Technically, Eagle isn’t the North Shore. In reality, it’s way more core than the Shore. Peter taggedalong so Stefan had someonw to converse with in his native tongue.

Ooli came with us today for the hike. It’s a solid 40 minutes up to the top of the first trail, 4 Lost Souls.

….and what an epic trail it is.

P-Dub drops in. This is just a taste of things to come.

Stefan hits one of the bigger ones. The whole trail consists of 5-8′ booters and some wall rides. So sweet.

Wall…..

…to wall…..

…good….

…times.

If you look carefully, you can see that it’s sunny and gorgeous downtown. Pete was of the opinion that the clouds were going to “swirl around us.” Yeah, I’ve got your miracle ticket right here, hippy.

It freakin’ pissed on us. Hail, rain, lightning, you name it.

Oh well, it’s not like Massage Therapy is an easy trail to begin with.

Still, it was mega fun. I’m going back next week I think.
