Cove Club Ride

Well about fricken time. A Cove Club. I’m stoked. Part of the shop culture should involve actually riding bikes and drinking beer for a change.

This past Friday we fired up the old “Fideaux 3” and went for a blast on Seymour.

It was a little bit Arctic at the top.

..so we decided to pedal uphill for a bit to warm up.

The snow was over our hubs up there, but if you really hammered in it you could get going.

Once in the forest it was pretty good. The wood was a bit slick maybe, but it was lots of fun.

Huckwagon Tim was putting on a clinic today.

So was Paul.

Good thing Daylight Savings Time kicked in a couple of days after this.

Kinda dark.

And then finish ‘er off DrunkCyclist style with beers, girls, and some hand built Italian road bikes.

OK, Maybe Now Winter is Really Over.

18 cms fresh last night. I HAMMERED the hill all day. Run after run in the trees.

This is the only run I did in the open, on a southern exposure (I only mention that to explain the lack of depth in the snow. It was face shots everywhere else). That’s Pete Bruce wandering down in the fluff there.

Couldn’t stop to take pics today. It was simply too much fun, and we just kept up the pace all day. Something around 45-50 000 vertical feet today.

I’m so-o-o-o-o tired.

Winter’s Not Over Yet

14 cms of freshies this morning at Apex. I guess it’s all still good. It figures that it winter would come back. After all, it’s spring now.

Here’s a local Apex legend by the name of Wendell on the hike out to Secondary.

It’s sort of snowing really hard, like it did the whole time I was there.

Wendell again dropping into the Pencil line.

Yours truly at the bottom of the Pencil.

Wendell again on another lap of Far Out.

‘Nuff said.
