Big Shuttle Day

5 runs on Seymour today. What a way to start February. Kids, I tell ya.

Yeah, Dean recovered pretty fast from yesterday. It was a lot nicer out today. Clear and cold. a bit of ice. Actually, enough ice that I fell on my ass and bruised my tailsbone in the first ten seconds of the ride.

I fell just to the Dean’s left in this shot, and my feet shot out from under me on the icy log there.

Whatever, it’s only a bruise. Super nice day all round. Not much damage to the trails considering how much rain fell this month. Everything was rolling fast, making the gaps really nice today.

Tons of yahoos out hittin’ it today. I didn’t catch Holmes’ name, but here’s a local hitting the ole’ PileDriver.

We even hit some old skool stuff on the West side, mostly because I haven’t been up to check out the mudslide yet.

“Hey Buddy, wanna buy a house in North Van for cheap?”

Groundhog Day

Well, maybe a couple of days late. It was cloudy and rainy all week though, so I guess that means winter is supposed to be over.

Yeah, right.

At any rate, the first tourist of the year rolled in today. The Deaner, from the “other” Deep Cove (the one on Vancouver Island), wanted to try the big stuff. In February.

Oh yeah, there was snow up there today. The first seasonal day in a month, and we’re riding the Circus, Jerry Rig, the starfish, and Boundary. What a day. I stunk the place out on a borrowed bike but Dean did pretty good…….

….for a 16 year old.

Classic shore day though. The top of the Expressway on the way to the Lobotomizer..

Gettin’ ready to go….

Lobotomized.

The Rig, and was slicccckkkkkkkk today.

Sideshow.

Lower Boundary.

I haven’t ridden Boundary or Starfish in I don’t know how long. I’ll be going back pretty soon too. Unreal how buffed out the trails on Fromme are. Even with torrential monsoon rains, the trails are as good as I’ve ever seen them.

…and a little DJ sesh to finish the day.

Seymour shuttles tomorrow.

First Ride of the Year

I should be skiing, but since skiing is sucking so badly I went riding instead. Had to borrow Barb’s Peeler as I sold my bike. Good thing I had a pink bike to ride.

Look who the cat dragged in.

“Hi girls”

This scruffy dude here showed up too.

Not much to say. We rode Seymour stuff. Not much snow around, and everyone wore way too any clothes for the weather. Should have worn shorts.
