Run, Forest!

RUNNNN! Oh shit…..it’s a bunch of damn hicks in my driveway.

Oh well, it’s a gorgeous day and I’ve gotta start getting the hang of this camera. We went for some adventure riding on Seymour. Sorta like this new powerXClightfreeridecross category that’s the “Next Big Thing” in biking.

Whatever, we went riding.

Huckstering.

Very nice out today. A bit of an inversion, so the city is under fog but it’s sunny and warm up high. Still some snow and lots of fallen trees, but they can be fun in their own right.

The rocks were dry.

Some of the structures are toast though. Here’s a totally staged line for you. It was an old ramp, but it’s snapped in half just out of frame left.

Wyld Willy was on point, and rode true to form.

The rest of the boys were stepping up to the bar though. That’s one hairball drop.

Another air session a bit lower down.

Then on the traverse back, Brad found some fallen trees. Check that out. It’s a solid 20 feet off the creek somewhere down there, but most of the time it was more like 10 feet of air to another 10 feet of broken spiky splinters and rocks.

Wyld Willy, you’re my hero. If you want to ride like Willy, start by dressing like him. Check out his company, Spectrum Techwear.

Some Skiing

Got up to the Okanagan for a couple of days of turns.

It was OK.

As usual, about boot top to mid-thigh inthe trees, and absolutely nobody skiing it. There were some racers around for the upcoming DH races, but even the few skiers not there to race were staying away from the pow.

Weird. Barb’s picking it up well now. So much for moguls, eh Barb?

We saw one more guy (Robin, we ran into him later) out on Secondary. We also got some good video of him dropping these chutes. Those are seriously steep, and hollow. He pulled some decent turns in there.

Some patriotism.

…and me.
