Chocolate Feet – Day 5

So very tired….

Gotta get up early to catch the morning, uh, toad.

Anyway, off to Arawana to carry our bikes over many fallen trees. At least there’s a few skinny things lying around to keep the crew stoked.

The Shimmerman was happy enough to jump over lots of stuff.

Rob (not Dan, just substitute Rob for Dan. I’m tired….gimme a break) got sucked in on a few.

A section of the trail was clearcut, but it’s short. Only about 3 minutes to hoof it across.

Everyone bow your heads. The Bug Height gap is dead….

At least we can still play with this thing.

Natural rock stepup anyone?

The boys get their road gap on.

Ivy League graduation time.

The water is dwon from where it was a month ago, but it’s still a challenge to cross the creek here.

A bit grey on the beach today too. Didn’t really feel like swimming.

So we went for another lap instead.

Deano sets the line off this drop.

So Princess followed suit.

Pretty flowers and ugly men.

Self captioned….

Deano, getting relaxed…

So we end today with the traditional sleeping in the back of the van shot.

Chocolate Feet – Day 4

OK, I skipped an update. Relax…. we are.

Slow start to the day, and we’re on Powers again.

Had to have a bit of a sesh and get these hits dialled in, right?

Proper…

..and not so much.

Still, we managed to get Dan on to the Jedi Fucker.

Here’s the Deaner stylin’ out Crazy Train. We’ll be getting the whole crew training off this soon.

Dan got another tick in the box here. I think he’s clean on this trail now.

Feels good, doesn’t it?

Matt is still 2 days behind, but he’s catching up.

Round 2, and we went a bit further out to Big Money.

It might be the only real hit on this line, but it’s so worth it.

We all had a go on this one. Mike cased it a bit, but that’s between him and his testicles.

Kev exiting 180′ of Pain.

Shimmer.

Gawking at the views.

Mike goes up…

..and Mike goes down. Although he did run back and got the only clean ride on it out of the crew.

I don’t often get shotson this berm. Here’s a local (hey Jonny!) leaning over on lower Powers.

Deano can jump, but he’s not much for these berm things.

Matt and I hada third lap. We had to make up for his late arrival and go and peel off a few more moves. Here he is on a stepup-berm-stepdown combo. Will the remedial learning work out for him? Tune in soon and see…

Chocolate Feet – Day 3

Is it Tuesday? This must be Gillard then.

Gillard is all about gaps and walls and steeps. Oh right, just like everything else. Except more so…

It’s a choose your own poison kind of place. Kev’s head was nearly chopped off on this one.

Justin came out to see what theese trips are like. Standing about, mostly. Here he is between rests….

Kev catches some flight time…

Shimmerman on a super tech corner gap.

Shimmerblur. Why is it whenever someone says “Shimmer” I keep hearing a South Park cartoon voice saying “Timmy?”

For thsoe of you wondering where Princess has got up too, I’d say about a foot off the deck.

More of Justin on Rubherdown.

The Deaner follows…

You know, we’re still on the first lap. A fair amount of variety on this run.

OK, NOW we can get to the second lap. We charged an old DH line down to Dr. No.

Dr No is unlike most of the trails in this zone in that it’s slow, technical, steep, and has views. Here’s Mike a couple of hundred feet above the rocks.

It’s seriously technical.

Mike inspects the craftsmanship. Check the way the wood is fitted into the natural rock there.

Princess on course!

There’s a few of these rocky couloirs on Dr. No. Here’s Mike droppping in one the hairiest one.

Princess slays a dragon….

After that, we traversed over to Boss Hog for a session. Or a rest, whatever you want to call it.

The Deaner owned this step up.

Sure, it took a few runins to dial it in, but you know he ran back for a half dozen more hits once he figured it out.

Mike, slightly before making intimate acquaintance with a spruce tree.

Wallride 101 with Dan.

Princess figured it out in short order.

Yeah, 3rd lap. We did a re-run of the first lap wit
h a couple of variations. Like this blind run into Ghost Rider.

The obligatory finish down at the beach, and an icy cold swim. I sure hope the lake warms up a bit more this year.

Of course, some of us might be feeling less pain than others at the end of the day.
