Silver Lining

Yup, one of hte coldest and wettest springs on record. Not that it really bothers me. I’m a Shore guy. It’s still pretty dry here. At least it’s not dusty. For that matter, a bit of moisture is making for hero conditions right now.

Brant and Justin were out crackin’ some hot laps tonight, so I tagged along for a few. We took some time out of one run for a few pics.

Yes, that’s a lake in the background. My mission this year is to get some good shots with the lake in there.

Funny how I couldn’t get a shot of Brant tonight. It was the Justin show.

Sorta dark out too. We were out late. Nice to crack off six grand of vert in the evening.

I love summer.

Slugging Rats

Garry and Stash came up for a quick rip today. I was a bit stunned still after the weekend, but I figured a little Builders Only rip was the best thing to shake the cobwebs out.

It was awesome out there. Still loamy and tacky, and ultra lush with flowers everywhere.

Poor Garry though. He’s been struggling with a bike that’s a bit too big for him and he’s in a bit of a rut. What I call “slugging rats”, where no matter what you do, it all goes wrong.

Sorta like this….

Black eye, concussion, broken nose, and a broken full face helmet. Trial by blood? Baptism by fire? Nah, sluggin’ rats. Don’t worry Garry, it can only get better from here.

WhistGnar Trip – Day 3

Ok, it’s time to get outta here. But not before we say “howdy, y’all!” to Wyld Willy. I had a quick visit and got all styled out with some fresh Spectrum Techwear goodies.

As it was raining, we made the call to hit the Shore on the way home. My first ride there in about a year.

Some things, like CBC, never change. For those of you wondering, CBC is unofficially open. There is no snow, and it’s in really good condition right now.

The Kelowna locs did all right too. This sure ain’t no desert, yo.

Of course, it’s pretty hard to not have a good time on a Ned’s lap.

Our new pal Andrew Mitchell (hyper fast Cove Bikes racer boy) shows us how to nose manual. Sorry about the blurs, I’m trying out a new camera.

Justin hurt his knee at Whistler, and so got to enjoy a day of driving the van down Seymour. Hey Justin, got your ticket?

Three laps of Seymour put the rest of the crew down for the count. That was a seriously rad weekend. Looks like it’s gonna be a semi-annual. I think we’ll have to go back in early October or something.
