MTBco AGM

The local club (someone you might be familiar with is the club President, whatever that means….), had their AGM recently.  Since the local community has been pretty generous with their support, we thought we’d tally up the efforts of everyone involved and try to figure out a dollar amount for what the club accomplished.

As it turned out to be an impressive figure, what else could we do but make a giant fake cheque a la ‘Happy Gilmore’ and present it to the powers that be.

That’s our Treasurer (Brant Lyon) as Happy, and one of our Directors (Nato) as his bodyguard.

You can find out more about the club (or join, or even donate some funds) over at their website…

Scouting Report

OK, so the skiing is lame but there’s too much snow to ride bikes.  Only one thing to do, explore on snowshoes…

Some of the other locals have been out looking around a lot, so I tagged along today to see what the potential was up on a nearby ridgeline.

Yup, looks like crap.  I guess we have another project to add to the list. There’s a trail here, all ready to go and great potential for more.  Hard to believe that the world still doesn’t know about the riding in the Okanagan.

Happy Valentines Day, from the Bush Pilot.

Powdah….

Yup, it’s been a long, dry winter.  I took this shot on my last powder day.  Wayyyyy back in January.  Since then we’ve only had a couple of little dumps.  For a season that started quite well in the South Okanagan, it’s sure gone nowhere…

Interestingly, I went out on this day just to check the snow profile, as the avalanche hazard has been so high all winter.  As it turns out, this was the most stable it’s been all season. Awesome turns, and I’ve had about ten great pow days so far, but they were a long time ago.  Almost time to pull the bike out….
