Hey P-Dub!

Our old pal P-Dub dropped by just in time for a little dusting of fresh ones.  Yup, drought is over.

He’s living up near Sun Peaks, and needed to get a change of scenery.  Well, this oughta do.

Ahhh, south Okanagan pow under clear skies.

We nabbed a couple of runs out of bounds, and a LOT of runs inbounds.  The backcountry was it’s usual awesomeness today.

Dubber just started tele-ing this season, and I think the Apex backcountry surprised him.  It’s not real huge in terms of vertical, but it’s steep and tech out there.   Here we are flirting with the rocks in some high 40 degree chutes.

Dub lays ‘er down.

Some other folks finally figured out the north face stash.  Our tracks were still the nicest…

Oh, and Barb got out for a few turns this afternoon too.

The sunshine brought out quite a few locals to the afternoon sun pit session.

Including a few very well groomed ‘staches.  They take those things seriously around here.  That is a verifiable non-ironic lip insulator right there.

Drought

A week of no snow?  Well, I guess I can handle it.  It’s been pretty foggy all winter, some visibility is nice.

Another short tour today, just for the helluvit.  It’s nice at 7200’ today.

A few slednecks are out, but that’s about all.

No shortage of untracked around, at least.

..and yet another set of tracks down that same north face.  Every week, I’ve got the only tracks out there.  I actually boot packed (no skins) today, and it took all of half an hour to get over there.
