Mr & Mrs. Marmalade – 7

There’s that blue sky.  I’ve been waiting for another bluebird day so that we can go and hit up the Naramata trails the right way.  Some places are meant to be ridden on sunny days.

We got sorta lost today.  Thought I’d try out the middle zone, and it was a classic morning of “technical traversing.”  I wasn’t lost…

See?  I found the place I was looking for.

Eventually, anyways.

Kept things more on track for subsequent runs though.  One flail per trip, that’s all I’ll allow.

Surfs up!

Yvonne has improved leaps and bounds this tour.  Yes, that is technically a step up.

Some more blue skies and big smiles.

OK, another sappy lovers shot and we’re out.

Mr & Mrs. Marmalade – 6

Those Swiss kids are so much fun, I think we’ll keep them around for another day.  Besides, it’s a Kobau day and the more the merrier on that one.

Hey Barb!  Whatcha’ doin’ over there?

The first time out in the high elevation sage meadows for everyone means lots of photo ops.

OK, enough of that.  Lets go do some shredding.  It’s trying to rain a little bit, but it’s still pretty dusty out there.

Part of the reason it takes so long to descend this trail is the over-abundance of Kodak moments like this.

Whoa! Speedy Suisse in effect!

That’ll learn ya…

This is a much more civilised approach…

Yvonne has it figured out too.

More Kodak moments.

Nic on the hoodoo near the end.

Nice and cool out, and that rain made this line a lot more forgiving than it can be.

Which is good, as it made it a lot more fun for Yvonne.

Barb, of course, wouldn’t care either way.  She just rides stuff.

Momma bear.  I missed the cubs, but there were three little bears here.

For round 2, I took the Swiss down TKO.  It’s a shitty trail.

Of course I’m joking, but we didn’t take many pics of round 2.  Having too much fun ripping it.  Just a couple of shots of this little road gap.

Barb, Al, and Yvonne took another lap on Cawston Creek, which is always a good idea.

Cheers!  Dirtbags…

“Hey you kids, look at me!  I’m running!”

Our crew, and our loyal shuttle driver (thanks Dad!).

Piraten

Mr & Mrs marmalade have a day off, so they’re playing with some bugs.

My past has come back to haunt me.  The Suisse Piraten have arrived.

This is David, who came out a few years back with a tour from a shady German outfit.  He won the trip by doing some outrageously stupid things on a bike, like:

He’s ridden here before, but this time he brought a few friends.

They’re all as crazy as he is.

Yeah, fun times with the Swiss.  Wish I had a bit more time to abuse them, but maybe next trip.  They should have seen Postill and Gillard, but were on their way to Whistler and didn’t realize what we had for them.
