More Canada Day

Barb needed to get out for some laps today, so we charged ahead with a Naramata day.  Turned into a bit of a gang ride with some Penticton locals.

Another crap day for sure.  Oh, and Chris and Mitchell from NRG showed up with ladies too, so it was a great couple day.   I think Kurt and Chuck D. made the cutest pair, personally.  Here’s Louise learning to surf the dust.

…and Chris getting his gap on.

Sunsetty

That’s a new word I’ve coined to describe the current trail conditions up here.  It seems every ride we’ve been on this week ends with some kind of spectacular sunset.

Tonight we’re running some lesser known lines in the Mice, such as Jose B and a few other un-named options.

To make things more interesting, the Old Schoolers are out in force, in the guise of Don Younie (above), and our old friend Chuck D. Railer (below).

Some random hawk or immature eagle.  Couldn’t tell, and wasn’t quite fast enough on the trigger to get him in focus.  Maybe some of you keen Nerders out there can ID him for me.

After several rad detours and crazy detours, we found ourselves on this exposed spine with this epic sunset…

…again.

Not only did we slay the timeline on this ride perfectly, but our new friend PegLeg the Israeli did the ride on a vintage Klein Mantra without a single mechanical or even any blood.  I think that tonight may have been that watershed moment where a boy becomes a young man.  Then again, haven’t seen the kid in a few days now.  Must still be sleeping…

So iif you enjoy cold beers and nice sunsets, maybe you should try to join us for one of these.

Thursday Shuttle

I missed out on last week’s version of the Thursday night shop shuttle, but I wasn’t going to skip tonight.  Back to Rainbow and High Pony.  It was a small crew tonight, so we kept up a good clip.

Our only holdup was a multiple flat, but it happened by this nice little hit near the end, so we sessioned that for a while.

We got applause from the gallery.

..and when I got home I found this awesome pile of boxes waiting for me.  I wonder what’s in them?
