2nd To Last Day

It’s almost the last day.  Here we are, getting on the lift at 8:50.  Check out that massive lineup.  Yup, it’s the last powder day of the season.  Well, the last one with lift access.

The end of year shenanigans have started early.

Once again, it’s steep and deep under the chair.

Sorry about the resolution, but it’s hard to get pics when you’re buzzing from your first lap.  I managed 1st chair again, so I had to shred the liftline for wakeups.  It was kind of hard to see.  Monty was in there with me, and he had a nice tomahawk move going.  We’re both so beat down from the last 5 weeks of straight snowfall, that we’re having a hard time putting together good laps.  But we’re going to soldier on….

Joel’s beard tells the story better.

Ran into Jonny Francais today.  He’s usually a Big White guy, but today he scored a good one.

I took him and one of his buddies off these small hits in the Pit, and then into the thick trees of Deep Throat.  You Big White guys are used to steeps, right?

One run is all they got though.  I’d liked to have done some more laps, but it’s a pow day and you’re not my friends.  I did give them directions to the heavens and scored them beers at the end though.  I’d say from the looks of things that all is forgiven.

Skulls, ya needledick.

That’s what happens to you at the tail end of a 16 day scotch bender.  He used to cut the grass, he was a very nice boy…

Mountaintop Monkey

It’s not a totally sideways whiteout at the top of the mountain today, so I thought I’d take Chevs up for a run down Grandfathers.  Here she is, making Cindi-Lou look tall.

For the first time, she was skiing extended periods without me holding her up, and was even steering the skiis a bit.  Plus, she stopped crying when she crashed.  Finally!

So she did about 75% of the whole run.  I only picked her up on the reallyflat parts that would have taken hours for her to walk across.  Pretty stoked, as it’s a 5km run.

She seems pretty happy about it too.
