Wade Simmons Tour – Day 2

Why did we come here again? Oh right, the Shangri-La of mountain biking. I remember now.

Well, we should ride bikes then.

I said ride bikes, not get Wade drunk so you can check out his ass……Nelly.

You’ll end up like this if you’re not careful. I hear Wades girlfriend is uber possessive.

It might be low, but it sure is skinny….

That’s more like it. Stefan gets a bit of a scare.

Rob looks like he’s got a better handle on this one.

Does Princess like the big truck? You go, Buttercup.

Ahhhhh yes….Shangri-La.

Wade Simmons Tour – Day 1

Welcome back. It’s been a year already, and the crew looks stoked. This time, we’re off to Williams Lake for the first off two whole weeks of ripping it up with the one and only Mr. Wade Simmons. On deck this year we have luke, Rob, Stu, Nicole, and Dan returning from last time. New to the squad are Stefan, Rainer, and Mike.

The first day was a travel day, but there’s this little known singletrack south of Lillooet known as Della Creek. Actually more of a ridge….

Of course, true to form, the guide fell off about 30 seconds after that shot. Here’s the upshot:

8 stitches. I managed to beaka chunk of wood off inside my knee. Oh well, alls well that ends well. I had no problems finishing the ride and apart from a little stiffness in the morning (like I don’t always hae that problem anyway…ahem) it was no big deal. Way to set the tone for the trip though.

On the way to the trailhead, we came across some kid (Holten?) who had built his own private bike park. Pretty killer zone he’s put together, and he’s only just turned 15.

I now present to you, Princess Buttercup.

Band of Brothers – Pt. 2

First I have to wish my parents a Happy Anniversary. They’ve been married for a few hundred years or so now.

And now on to the riding….

Brian Park says “Hi!” to everyone at the NSMB.com forums.

We hit up Arawana today. Jason continued to learn how to ride mountain bikes. Here he is getting a lesson on Bud Height.

Ted was picture perfect under bluebird skies.

There’s some new stuff on Arawana, including a stupidly huge jump they call the Seperator (likely because it will seperate both your shoulders on landing). No pics of it this week, but I’m heading back there soon, so maybe next week. This is Chris on the jump just before it.

Ted gets a road gap. Courtenay isn’t impressed. Keep trying Ted.

Hey Matt, remembering those BMX skills yet?

For dessert we hooked up with Dax for a Rusty Muffler.

It’s a little more country than the other run. Hows the uphill boys?

Some stunts and stuff kept us interested.

Courtenay on another teeter.

We finished up at Hillside winery again, where we managed to offend everyone within hearing distance with foul language and filthy stories.

I guess four bottles of wine at the end of the day will do that to you.

And to finish the day?

Mmmmmmeat.
