The Legend of Greyballs — Last Day

I get off, on ’57 Chevys….

The bodywork was super cool on this car. All molded in, 3-d flames.

The last day and we paid a visit to Keremeos. Check out this panorama and see if you can spot any promising lines.

We figured one out, and got on our way. It’s a pretty epic shuttle. It takes 45 minutes, and the road is rough enough that the MX boys (and girls) can have a good time on it.

…and so can the Porsche guys. Seems that our man here just won the big race for top-fuel Harley-Davidson drag bikes up in Ashcroft and decided to end his weekend painting in the alpine.

Sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction….

Oh right, the ride. No more boring you with useless narrative. Enjoy the pics.

Hey Bob! Look out for that giant beer!

And a bear on the side of the highway on the way back to town. Another epic weekend.

Happy Birthday Darcy.

The Legend of Greyballs — Day 2

Mountain bikes…pffffft. REAL men ride cruisers.

So, according to this picture, the clearance on the van with bikes is just a teensy bit under 11 feet. Guess I should try to write that down somewhere……

Today we rode two laps of Arawana. Here’s Dave getting warmed up…

Dom styles out a long skinny on his 3rd try.

One MASSIVE stepdown. No-one wanted to even try. That thing is a solid twenty vertical up in the air, and maybe twenty-five out. Way bigger than it looks in that crappy pic.

Railing the corners at the bottom.

Some sweet canyon bottom singletrack.

The infamous liquid lunch.

Sure it was a long run, but one is never enough. Even though everyone tried to weasel out of a second one, it’s the second run that makes the day.

Bob checks his sphincter on the sidehill.

The Birthday Boy in the canyon again.

Barracho on the same line.

End of the line. Pass me a beer willya?

Of course, one beer leads to another, and the next thing you know we are rock stars.

Like all good rock stars, after trashing the hotel we went out partying. Nite Moves never disappoints on the long weekend.

“Can you make him go away please?”

Kettle Valley Railway — Granite City to Tulameen

7 am sure comes early around these parts.

Doesn’t it, Rich? Yeah….early.

The boys are well into the pace now. Actually, five of them have already been to Tulameen, as they went for a little ride last night. Seems that they heard that there might be a candy store there. Suckers….they missed it by ten minutes. That’s the kind of enthusiasm for the bike that I like to see, though. They’ve even figured out how to draft and work together all on their own.

Otter Lake. Even if you’re not into the XC side of biking, it’s hard not to enjoy this ride. Amar the Hammer was really starting to challenge John Lee for the lead today.

The mysteries of the Shoe Tree. Must be over a hundred sneakers up there. Thats Coquihalla Mtn. inthe background, and the toll-booth on Coquihalla Highway is just the other side of that range.
