"Do You Smell That…?"

“…That gasoline smell?”

“Smells like……Disneyland.”

Give you three guesses what we did today.

We had to push the flight back a day because of weather, but it was well worth the wait.

What’s that white stuff on the mountains?

That’s Angel shit, honey.

Today we had Paul, Burton, Josh, Javed, Jack. and uhhh….Dave? And Harley the evil Hound from Hell.

Only 70 shopping days till Christmas…

It was as cold as it looks up there, too.

Surprisingly though, the rocks had really good traction.

These boys have been doing this trip every fall with me for a few years now. It’s an annual event. Funny how you forget just how steep it is.

A little respite from the gradient.

First trip this summer we were walking on the ice halfway out onto this lake. Just around the corner I decided to to a Superman onto some rocks and bruise the hell outta my ribs. Javed had a spectacular endo as well. Sure the rocks were grippy, but the roots were instant carnage today.

Josh drops into one of about a thousand rock faces.

Paul getting the hang of his new V-10

Burton in the trees.

Artsy shot of Jack (I think) in the Playground.

Cheezit. The cops are here.

Ho hum, more brochure shots.

“How do you know you’re taking a break?”

“Cause I’m having a Kit-Kat.”

“Think about it.”

Burton on the rocks. Careful, too many of those will make ya ill.

Ahh yes, the bill is now due. That’s a hundred foot drop behind that guardrail.

Payback.

In more ways than one. Good thing Paul wasn’t too seriously injured, but his bike was.

Nothing that a few zip ties and a Kokanee couldn’t take care of though.

Another Day, Another Heli-Ride

Ho hum. Yep, another day at the office.

This was an intimate affair for 8 today. Actually a stag party. A nice bunch of lads from Sheffield. Coming hot on the heels of Jedi’s trip and 8 hours of digging for the NSMBA. I know, I know, but somebody has to do it.

The weather was the shits, though. Blue skies are so dull day after day.

Andre’s Wall.

Handlebar Heights.

The best Awesome Rock pics I’ve gotten yet.

The crew hanging out at Stone Rocks.

That’s Dom, Pete, Matt, Jim, Charlie, James (the doomed man), and Dan.

Eatin’ dust at the end of the line.

Great day. Faster with a smaller crew too. Only five hours and forty minutes.

well, you’re up to date. I’ve had strep throat for the past week. I guess the summer finally caught up with me. The next 20 days straight are upon me. Should have some fresh updates for you in a few days.

Heli Day

Like you’re going to be the slighest bit interested in what I have to say here. Anyway, congrats to all the racers int he Test of Metal. While you were racing, we were up to something else.

Now, on to the pics.

These two are in sequence. Wee if you can spot the guy who has never seen snow before.

Here’s the crew. Darren, Mark, Greg, Tony, Mingo, Adam, Tim, and uhhh…..I kind of forget names too easily now. Anyway, it’s part of a locals crew that rip up the Shore together on a regular basis. I’ve ridden with Darren and Mark a bunch of times over the past several years, and Darren has been talking about loading up the chopper for quite some time. Looks like he picked a good time….

Sick scenery.

“Slick” scenery.

One of the bros dropping in on Awesome Rock with a fresh Demo 9.

Apres ride with wobbly pops and digi pics.

Well, that’s going to be the last bros ride for a while. David Martin from the UK gets here in a couple of days, and less than a week to go for the first major road trip of the summer with Freeride Adventures Japan.
