Groundhog Day

Well, maybe a couple of days late. It was cloudy and rainy all week though, so I guess that means winter is supposed to be over.

Yeah, right.

At any rate, the first tourist of the year rolled in today. The Deaner, from the “other” Deep Cove (the one on Vancouver Island), wanted to try the big stuff. In February.

Oh yeah, there was snow up there today. The first seasonal day in a month, and we’re riding the Circus, Jerry Rig, the starfish, and Boundary. What a day. I stunk the place out on a borrowed bike but Dean did pretty good…….

….for a 16 year old.

Classic shore day though. The top of the Expressway on the way to the Lobotomizer..

Gettin’ ready to go….

Lobotomized.

The Rig, and was slicccckkkkkkkk today.

Sideshow.

Lower Boundary.

I haven’t ridden Boundary or Starfish in I don’t know how long. I’ll be going back pretty soon too. Unreal how buffed out the trails on Fromme are. Even with torrential monsoon rains, the trails are as good as I’ve ever seen them.

…and a little DJ sesh to finish the day.

Seymour shuttles tomorrow.

More Fun with Aussies

Richard stuck around for another day while Julie went to prepare for a test she needed to take to complete her Business Degree.

These are the first Aussies that have come by for a trip. Pretty funny when you think about it. It’s summer down unda’ right now.

Here’s the top of TNT.

A brighter day today. Actually it was very cold. All the wood was extrememly slick and covered by ice. Best to just try to keep it in the air.

We went for a rare run down Dale’s. That’s such a sweet trail, and nobody ever bothers. It’s got the best teeter on the Shore too.

Plus one of the steepest, gnarliest rock lines. Even if the pics don’t do it justice.

We did multiple runs on the Big Seymour today. Funny what you find out there. Haven’t seen this bridge before….

And the obligatory speed run down Pangor to finish the day.

Richard and Julie will be heading to Texas via Maine over the next few months. They plan on visiting Penticton and North Carolina among other places. If you want to hook them up in your ‘hood DROP ME A LINE.
