Droughts and Forest Fires

Oh wait, that was last year.

Now it looks a little more like this.

On the ride today was Bill from San Fran up for his first North Shore experience. We also ran into the crew from the Bike Doctor in Missoula, who I’ve spoken with onthe phone numerous times but never actually met. I love serendipity.

This is what the Shore is supposed to look like.

All creepy and dark, with blurrry pics because its too dismal to focus.

I didn’t get the names of everyone, but this is a nice shot of the Gerbil Cage Extension.

Here’s Bill sliding around one of the huge trees on CBC.

Bill again.

Aww hell, they’re all Bill now. Top of Pangor.

Look, he’s riding logs!

..oh wait, no he’s not.

A last shot of the Pangor Swamp…

…and I’m spent.

It’s a Shore Thing

Whaddya mean it’s a big climb?

Oh. Now I get it.

We had another Brit in attendance today. Ed from London came out for a spin.

We checked out the usual stuff on the way up. Wade’s legbreaker gap, Digger’s Cliff, the start of Jerry Rig.

And the Circus.

For all you Florida types who think you can do it, let me tell you something.

You can’t.

It’s hard.

Even Scott agrees.

Here he is dwarfed by the forest on Upper Oil Can.

Dropping in on another.

Ed “I’m not very good” gives himself a scare on Big Smooth.

Scott gets the job done on Sideshow. What a sick pic.

Ed again on Ladies Only.

…and Boombatz on the Lower Ladies rollercoaster.

After this we went for some eats and hit up a speed run on Seymour. No pics, only riding.

Excellent day. I bonked hard and passed out early. Tomorrow is another big day.

Nice Accent :: Where ya Fromme?

The last full day saw us heading up to Fromme with serious hangovers due to closing down the Raven pub with rowdy rugby songs.

Funny how it took ten days to figure out how much Jedi looks like Shrek.

Are we not men? We are DEVO!

Upper Oilcan’s first big move. Stouph, I think.

Stewie on Big Smooth.

Stewie again on Sideshow.

Same stunt, different angle. Glen almost got excited on this one.

How ’bout all them beers last night, eh boys?

A coupla birds.

Some rollercoaster shots.

Well, that’s about it. The best Bush Pilot trip to date. We all got a bit weepy after is was all said and done (until Jedi dropped trou once again).

To Jedi, Skip, Stouph, Mark, Stewie, Glen, Ed, Pierre, Llew, Rocket, Chaos, Emandem, and Paul; thanks for a memorable 11 days. The country seems bigger without ya.

Of course, do I get to take some time off now?

..no rest for the wicked is what they say.
