Second Bananas – Day 1

Or, the Return of Team Banana Bread. “Now with more pregnant chicks!” Seems to be a theme lately.  It’s because I’m SOOOO virile, everyone that I know is getting knocked up.

Dan’s so freaked out by it, he’s jumping off a lot of bridges.

This guy broke his bike at Silverstar, and how is he rewarded?  Noel lets him use his Delerium.  Even though it’s a bit too small, I don’t see any real issues with the ride here.

Ahhh….there’s the pregnant one now.  Wheels on the ground though.  I’ll have to see if we can set up a tame jump for her.  Gotta get the next generation schooled on the airtime early, ya know.

Dan sending Crazy Train.

Oh, another rare pic of me, sending it on the XC bike.

A moonrise shot from Peachland, and check out that mysterious blob in the water.  Ogopogo?  Or just some random floatie?  You be the judge…

Dynomite – Day 2

OK, enough dilly dallying around (thanks to my Mom for the turn of phrase there).  Lets get this party started.  As if the first day wasn’t rad enough, now we’re on the home trails at Powers Creek.

I promised the boys that if they couldn’t get their fill of vertical today, then it just can’t be done.

As it was, we only got 4 runs in before we were totally cooked.

Good runs though.  Hard to go wrong when you get over 8 grand at Powers.  We scored a full house on Crazy Train by the end of it all too.

That was all three bro’s hitting it up there.  We also did Justin’s new line below there, and it was my first time on that particular one.  With the bit of rain through the day, we all had some interesting …. situations.  I saw Jim bum sliding one tranny, and Joe totally missed another one off to the side.

It wasn’t until we got out to 2.5 that things got really rad.  The rain picked up a bit more then.

As Joe was just killin’ it, he got sort of confident as we went.

Really confident…..until he:

What doesn’t kill you, gives you a muddy face and makes you want to drink beer.

More tomorrow….

Outbound Group Ride

As part of an irregular schedule, I do a group shuttle with Outbound on Thursday nights.  $5 gets you all this…

That last one is Glen, the owner.

As an added bonus, I tried out the other line up Powers (finally).  It’s not exactly the “Double Black Diamond” that they’ve rated it at (more like a blue trail with 50’ of steep rocks in one part), but it’s still pretty rad.  I’ll have to get some pics of that one for you soon.
