Stephen from Oxfordshire

Hello Stephen from Oxfordshire. First time to the North Shore then? Very well, hang on…..

We did a mostly XC day today, with some hucks thrown in for good measure.

The “other” other side of Seymour.

Huck #1….too high.

Huck #2….too low.

Awww, forget it, lets just pedal.

Or we could just check out the sexy bike. Late 40’s vintage, recently restored.

Cherry….

Return of the Jedi Council — Part IX

As they say, all good things must come to an end, and so it is with the Brits tor of 2005. Just as weel, as the white man carnage was getting a bit out of control.

Cracked ribs, bad sprains and possible fracture of the ankles, and a good laceration on the shin.

Jedi

Fractured toe.

Stouph

Fractured metacarpal (hand bon)

Stu

Various bleeding shins.

(everybody, but this is Barb)

Good times…good times. With just enough left in ’em for a lap of Seymour.

Panama

Funny how hard CBC can feel when you’re that beat down.

Mark

It’s still a great ride though, and tough to pass up when you only get here once a year.

Barb

The new Corkscrew trail is finally open, and although only a couple of the boys were feeling like riding that far today, the ones that did made the most of it. Synchro has really made a gorgeous addition to Seymour with this one, and the log gap is an instant classic.

Stouph

Two weeks just isn’t enough time for you guys, let alone 9 days. I can hardly wait ’till you come back. It had better be sooner than the next time I see Chaz on a pink bike…..

Return of the Jedi Council — Part VIII

There’s been a lot of discussion about “how far we done clumb up” on Eagle. Well, have a map and figure it out for yourself. Not much by Tour de France standards, so far as I can tell.

It does sort of suck though.

Whatever, it’s all worth it. We did the first climb pretty quick, in around 45 minutes or so. Our guest bitc—-I mean superstar, Geoff Gulevich, led the pack all the way up.

We decided it would be in everyones best interest to try out Fat Bastard. It’s sort of like CBC without any of those pesky ealy lines around everything. Oh yeah, and it has a bunch of wicked airs in it, too.

Ed

More unbelievable woodwork here than you can shake an —uh– stick at..

Stouph

Pierre

Rollercoaster drops, what a swell idea.

Stouph (?)

That was the warmup, the second climbn is right after, and it really is easier than the first one. A bit over half as far, and bit over half as high. Check the map….

The summit is sure a welcome sight though.

I hada bit of revenge to take care of with Massage Therapy, as I broke my finger there with the Hicks last month. So I simply rode the hell out of it and didn’t take too many pics. That trail is the best, and so is Manhandler, the 3 Little Pigs, and Mistress. Again, it’s more core than the Shore, you just have to get there first.

Pierre

The biggest log ride I’ve ever done is on Mistress.

Panama and Barb

Plus another lakeside trail finish. Now if we only knew what happened to Gully later….
