Fukitzpukin

I gotta tell the truth. I only ride bikes to fund my skiing habit. It’s nice to have a bit of snow and cold for a change. All that hot weather last summer was starting to get to me.

As you can tell from the pics, its been storming pretty much every time I get out. Yesterday we were out on Seymour in the fog for about six hours. Not bad for the backyard. Definitely heavy skiing, but there was a few turns of pow under the big trees. It’s what you make it. Anyway, no pics turned out. I’ve been getting decent video, but no good stills.

Speaking of vid, go to this cool eurotrash site that hosts action vids and check out what I’ve been doing with my spare time. You have to register, but there’s tons of stuff on there. You can find Bush Pilot related items HERE. I’ve got 3 vids up on there. Slow downloads but they’re all 5-7 minute vids.

Here’s a couple of stills from a recent day at Whistler.

We skiied the ridge in the left foreground. The classic line off of Flute.

Unknown girlie dropping in below the cornice on Piccolo. She was cute, too.

I’ll be heading to the Kootenays to check out some steep, deep, and cheap all next week.

Shtay tuned.

Riding Whistler

I’m sick of waiting for pics. I guess that’s why I bought a digi cam yesterday.

Anyway, Whistler was the usual cluster. Two days of it. Dirt Merchant to A-Line to Biker Cross to GLC Drop.

Except Jow, who blew up off the GLC and fractured his ass. And dislocated his hip and broke his collarbone and dislocated his finger. Everything is supposed to be OK in under a month. I bet ya his finger still hurts at Christmas.

Anyway, I wasn’t guiding at Whistler so it was a bit of a fluke that I was even around when Jow got hurt. It was definitely a good one. Looked like he slipped a pedal going off the edge and pinned himself to the bike with his bars. Big impact. Too bad no one had a camera on at the time. Still waithing for Jow to post up the x-ray.

Anyway, here’s the obligatory Schleyer Drop pics. Demo Dave horrifying the world with those goddamn ugly shorts of his.

Broken footer with Gary.

Donny showing off in the line up.

Whistler Powder

Owww. Skiing was relatively epic yesterday. Funny how when it’s supposed to be a crappy snow year that you end up shreddin so much pow. Whistler has had about a foot of fresh in the last three days, but the wind has been pushing it around a lot. Flat light, windslab, and drifts up to 3 feet. It was nothing but primo faceshots until about noon, when I was so beat up I had to stop. Had four full body slam wipeouts, and I think I chipped my elbow.

No pictures yesterday, too busy getting runs. You will have to be content with these shots of last month. I’m actually very happy in that last shot. I’m just doing my best Oasis impersonation.
