I’m OK, You’re OK

Early season is finally here. This is going to be remembered as one of the longest winters in memory. I heard that the Rusty Muffler was only a short walk through the snow before it became rideable, so I grabbed the K-town loc’s and headed over for a mission.

Oh yeah, that was a LONG winter, wasn’t it Rich?

Rob on his first teeter of hte year (no, he didn’t clean it. Look close…).

Justin sandbagged us all. He’s been charging the low elevation trails for weeks, and is in pretty good early season form.

Rob is pretty competetive though, and kept his stoke on till the end.

Alright, bring on 2008!

More XC Epics

Another e-acquaintance has come to town for a visit. Craig is a long time mod on MTBR.com, and a regular on NSMB. He and his wife Ina ride all over the world, so I’m feeling somewhat honoured that they are gracing us with their presence.

Mr Moose didn’t really share the sentiment. I guess we should keep our heads down today.

Barb hasn’t seem McDougall yet, and Craig was interested in seeing some local XC stuff, so up we went again. Barb really likes climbing….

We had a little snow on the trail today.

One thing about this ride is that it’s tough to get a picture that shows how cool this particular piece of singletrack really is. This shot for instance, no justice at all…

And now it’s time for fun with HDR (that’s High Dynamic Range) photoimagery.

Good times. And now back to the trail.

It was a little chilly up there today. Here’s Barb enjoying the loss of bloodflow to her fingers.

Another couple of enhanced shots with a cool tree for some added flava.

Finally, the last climb.

As usual, there’s a huge part of the descent missing. Here’s one of the many lookouts on the way down. We’re just having too much fun railing corners to take pics.

Doh!!! Barb rails one a little too hard and buys the farm. Someone won’t be waxing her legs for a while….

PS. – Happy 69th Birthday, Dad
