March 28th update

Well Spring has sprung and I’m finally getting off my ass. I just sold my G-Spot, so it’s the one-speed for me now. I’ll get something else soon. It’s down to the Knolly V-Tach or the Rocky Mountain RMX. I’ll decide this week.

Anyway, let me get a few things outta the way. For sending me gack, SRAM and Etnies rule.

Also, check out the Cove Bikercross for good times. Man that site looks cool. The designer must be one studly muffin.

So if you have ever wondered where the hell Deep Cove is, check out this. Drag your mouse around on it to see the full 360.

This is a view of Mt Seymour from the waters of Indian Arm. The second tower from the top is the top of CBC trail. The Powerline is the bottom of Corkscrew/top of Pingu.

Well hello, Mr Seal. This took me about forty minutes to get. He’ll get used to me over the nest couple of weeks I hope. I want a better shot.

Ooooh…..a tunnel. Start of Fishermans trail and an old narrow gauge rail tunnel.

A couple of shots of the old school.

Alpine scenery.

The Old Growth Trail. What can you say? Look at the pics. This is just under 50km round trip from my place. Good ride.

…..and if you were wondering how big the trees are, well……..’Nuff said.

First Ride of the Year

Here ya go. The first ride of the year for me. I’ve got a little animation in this update, so if your computer slows down, I apologize. Just playing around with technology.

Anyway, I went out for a special occasion. Paul Chetwynd (Chizzer) was in town this winter from Japan. Paul was one of our top racers back in the early ’80’s. He married a nice girl from Japan years ago and has been running a tour service there for several years. He decided to try the freeride side of the sport this winter.

These shots are from the day I got him to shed his panties.

Chizzer on CBC.

More of Chiz on CBC.

Hi tech animated shot of Chiz going the wrong way on CBC.

We got into some old trails that are being redone on Seymour. A bit too Fromme in nature for my tastes, but killer work by Jacques and company.

Yours truly dropping a four footer to tranny.

Tom taking the two foot line on the same stunt.

…and me again hitting a five footer to tranny near the end of the trail.

Till we meet again…..

Valhalla Powder

OK, back to the sports. It’s been a few days since the last update. What can I say? Barb got back from the UK on Valentines Day so I’ve been, ahhhh……busy. We also did some skiing, but it was only more of the same knee deep under grey skies so we got no pics to show for it. Just lots of vert.

Here’s a few shots of the Cat Skiing Day that I had two weeks ago. As usual, only crappy pics. The skiing was pretty good so there wasn’t much time to take shots. A bunch of Yankees, a couple of Aussies, a German, and a couple of dumb Canooks. Average of 20-30 cm ski penetration, and a bit of avalanche debris to dodge here and there. Unbelievable terrrain. If you are going to go cat skiing, go HERE.

Here’s the crew getting ready.

Some alpine terrain looking north towards Valhalla Prov. Park.

Some of the sub-alpine terrain. Too much fun.

I thought this was Droop, but it was one of the foreigners instead. Whatever.

Perfect tree skiing.

Too bad I didn’t get more pics. I guess I’ll just have to go back.

Next update…..bike pictures!!
