Not what you want to see from your sundeck when you live in the Okanagan. This one blew up fast, but the fire crews got on it quick and knocked it down in a day. Still, it scorched 35 hectares and one house. I guess fire season is here.

Rock Oven
Bye Brant, we’ll miss you.
Our pal Brant is moving back to Vancouver Island. I think he may have made a tactical error in partying so hard last night though. We may be shuttling up, but this is a tough ride, especially when it’s going to be high 30’s in there and he’s got a fullface helmet.
He spent a good part of the day throwing up hot water.
Now see if you can find the secret trailhead using only the info in the pic below.
Terry tagged along today too. Here he’s taking advantage of what little water there is out there to cool off.
Awesome day up there. Here’s proof:
Another creek crossing, and John gets a soaker.
Brant bailed out just as the trail got rad. He threw up hard enough that he passed out, so it was down the quad track for him. For the rest of us it was a few thousand feet of techgnar rock, with this little climb thrown in for good measure.
Our reward for our efforts.
No bad deed goes unpunished around here.
Yeah, we spent some time up on the bluffs, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t find the time to stop and smell the flowers. This is the first Mariposa Lily I’ve seen all year.
A few more sexy rock and lake shots, and I’m out.
Toonie #3
Maybe this is why people think racing is gay.
Yeah, nice bibs. Makes you want to wrestle.
The Toonies keep getting bigger. Over 20 people on a regular basis now, and quite the variety shows up each time.
The best $2 you’ll spend. Glenn from Outbound kicked down the burgers this week.
..and as usual there was a prize for everyone.
