Happy 50th

Perhaps not the most mountain bike related of themes, but my parents have somehow remained married (sometimes even blissfully) for 50 years.  So we threw a party.  Thanks to Kurt for the tents, as it did decide to rain a bit.

Chevy missed the last big anniversary party, but she made the most of this one.

Lots of the old rat pack made it out for the day.  These are a few of their old Deep Cove Yacht Club cronies, pretending it’s sunny.

The honoured couple, raising a glass to 50 years.

The ladies that made it all happen (my sister Jenny, and of course Barb).

The obligatory sunset shot of the van parked on the lawn.  Gotta love that yard…

And to finish it off, a lovely shot of some snacks and the special, limited edition, commemorative napkins.

Freedom Youth Ride

It continues to grow.  I never realized how many motivated shredders we have in town.  This is fast turning into my favourite evening of the week.

A bit of nostalgia on the ride tonight.

It’s not often we get really wet conditions to play in, and this is classic North Shore style right here.

Still, even soaking wet it’s not really the same thing, is it?

So loamy.  So very, very loamy.

As usual, we had to spend a bit of time sessioning at the Redemption Compression.  I think we may need to build a new hit sometime soon.
