Day 3 Swiss Kids Peat Bog

Hi Kristy!  Thanks for shuttling!

Last day with Paul and Dani, and for an added bonus Darcy came out.  This is Darcy’s first ride since he almost died last year from a ruptured aorta.  Basically, one guy a year survives this condition.  Greyballs lives!

However, one run was enough.  We did a couple, and this is what they looked like:

The boys have been busy buffing up the Bog this spring.  It’s got more flow now than it’s had in years.  Lots of fun, and not too hard either.

Thanks to Troy for fixing up the gaps near the end.  They used to be a bit jarring with different lips and oddball distances, but now they flow so sweet…

After a couple of Bog laps, it was time for the Thursday night shop ride.  I think all the epic runs from the past couple of days finally caught up with Paul.

He got away with a little knock to the head, so nothing serious.

Ah yeah…. Thursday.

Good to see you again, Paul.  Have a great time in BC.

Another Old Cove’r

They’re comin’ outta the woodwork, I tells ya.  Another old co-worker from the dark days of Cove Bikes showed up today in the form of one Paul Jolley.  Paul disappeared to the Eurozone around 14 years ago, and just showed up with a Swiss miss and some kind of German joinery ticket.

I don’t know what that means, but as Barb tells me, this baby snake we saw is a Northwestern Garter Snake.

Mean little bugger; he took a few strikes at me.

Meanwhile, Dani (the aforementioned Swiss Miss), was sending various drops in the neighborhood in fine style.

Of course, the male of the pair felt that he must go bigger, and so he did.

As today is the unofficial first day of summer (yeah, it’s finally hot and dry), we celebrated with some new vintages.

Thanks for the vineyard tour, Addy!

OK, one is never enough, so we shredded another one out.

Happy first day of summer everyone. Time to get out there!

Oh, almost forgot.  Today’s wildlife tally was one NW Garter snake, a whitetail deer, a black bear, and three mountain goats.  Not too bad…

Yet Another Epic Sunset Session

In case you’re wondering…the answer is "No, I don’t get bored of doing this."

Shredding awesome singletrack at sunset just never gets old.

Neither does this awesome hip at the bottom.

That last one of Jens is pretty sick for a guy that just started riding last year.

We’ll do this again sometime this week.
