Cove Trail Day :: Sunday, June 6th

Before I talk about last weeks trailday (besides, it’s just a repost from the Cove Bikes site), you might want to check out the trashing I got over at FARKIN, an Aussie bike forum. The thread can be found HERE. It’s in response to another thread over at NSMB.com, which can be read HERE.

Yes sir, I am a tool. Ok, on to last week’s trail day.

It was a roaring success. Nearly 60 people were in attendance for the work party on CBC sponsored by Cove Bikes and organized by Cove team rider Barb Haley.

Please, remember to support your local trail association. The NSMBA needs you. Traildays are on going all summer, and your contribution is necessary to keep the trails open.

Many new faces were in attendance. Good to see the future of the sport represented.

The top several hundred meters were re-worked to help alleviate drainage and erosion problems. Several features were also enhanced to give riders a little extra lift when riding CBC.

…and here’s a little clip of the finished trail.

May 29th. :::: Virginia Dave

Yep. Dave Cimonelli. All the way from Virginia. He sure brought the rain with him though. Before we get to Dave, I have the video from the long weekend finished.

It’s 15 megs, so be ready for some download time. You can see it HERE.

OK, on to the rain–I mean ride.

This isn’t Dave. This is actually the R&D department at Trek bikes. Trying for a little North Shore reputability I imagine. Well, if they are riding CBC in the wet then I would think that their bikes will be undergoing some changes soon….

OK, THIS is Dave:

…and again:

I had hoped for some better carnage shots, but those East Coast guys seem to just eat it up on the Shore. Maybe that guy from Phoenix will entertain us in a couple of days….

Victoria Day Long Weekend — Goin’ Home

The last day. Hey, maybe we should do some riding for a change boys.

But first, lets see how many bikes we can get on the roof of the van.

This is a seriously secret and sick ride outta a tiny town called Cawston. The shuttle UP is 45 minutes.

Here’s the top.

Lots of stuff in the woods worthy of the ride, but not necessarily photos.

This is about halfway down the 4500′ vertical.

Lets just follow all the way down.

…and another sweet Malibu to end ‘er.

Happy Birthday Darcy. See ya next year.
