Victoria Day Long Weekend — Day 3

Ahhhh. Day 3. well, everyone managed to survive another one. Today brought something not much seen in the Okanagan but very much needed:

Rain.

Bring it on.

Here’s Johnny Barracho from On Top Bike Shop dropping in on Knuckleduster.

Ole’ Barracho was on fire, even in the rain. Here he is riding across the big crack.

Good thing he didn’t know it was over 20 feet deep.

Dom, on the other hand, was beginning to feel the effects of a long weekend. Note the location of rider and bike in relation to the trail.

Then my camera battery died. We actually got two runs in this day, and the second one POURED!!!

After the ride, the drinking really began. In honour of the lousy weather, we killed a couple of 40’s of tequila, then hit the clubs. I seem to remember dancing on a bar, but I have absolutely no recollection of punching the crap outta Dom, or of any of the other vile and atrocious acts that have been attributed to me on that night.

Good thing the camera wasn’t working….

Which raises another mystery.

Where did this picture of this totally boss 1970 396 Chevelle SS come from?

Victoria Day Long Weekend — Day 2

Why did we stay up all night? It hurts so very much. Boo hoo hoo.

Friday was a mix of sun and cloud. Really nice temps for riding in. We were put up by the kind folks at the New Century Inn. Ron and Maria have just opened up a hostel catering to bikes there. You should give them a try if you are going to Penticton. They’ve got the inside line on the trails too.

Anyway, we started the weekend off with some Bog action. No good pics to show you from Code 4. The boys seemed to be a little HURTING after drinking all night. And I mean ALL night. I passed out at 4….

By the time we got down to SnakePit the ride and the riders opened up a bit.

Here’s Bob…

…and here’s Tony, proud owner of the Love Nest.

That’s Ron from the New Century Inn coming around the mountain on his Cove Stiffee.

This is Dom almost going over the edge on his Cove G-Spot.

Funny how one run just seemed to be enough. It’s like somebody drank all night…..

anyway, this is how the evening went.

For some of us anyway. For some of the others it looked a bit more like…

More in a day or so. Stay tuned.

RB’s Birthday

Then last Saturday I went to Squamish to beat up on RB for his 41st birthday.

Except that I got trashed instead. Oh well.

Brent came along too. We rode pretty much everthing in the Alice Lake side.

A classic Squamish shot. Snow-capped mountains, bikes, and heavy machinery.

Brent, hangin out cliffside.

Brent’s nose hairs.

RB, gettin low.

The best part was the end of the day, all stnky and beat, when Brent and I sent RB on his way home to……a surprise birthday party. We followed about 20 minutes later and he just walked up to us and punched me in the arm.

Happy Birthday……..bu-u-uddy.

I’ll leave you with this collection of stunners.

HEY!!! Over Here! Whatchall lookin at?

See ya soon.
