Ruined – Day 12

Welcome to Pemby. Big mountains and big trucks.

After eleven days of arid grasslands, this is a bit overwhelming.

Poews took fire with the steeps.

Not that anyone else had any issues with it.

Even Jim was getting more familiar with the techgnar side of BC singletrack..

It’s all about the steep rock out here.

And the big mountain backdrops.

That’s Mt Currie in the background. The steepest and longest vertical drop in North America.

Our local guide for the day. All you get to see is his ass.

There’s also the occasional skinny line around here.

Oh, and some gaps too.

And some big skinny drops.

Yeah Jim, fight it out.

A nice natural log ride.

Mongo continued his domination of the big lines.

For dessert, we hit up this crazy line called Squirrel Boy. It’s seriously steep, exposed and gnarly.

Mongo basically cleared the whole trail, including this sick stepdown at the end.

We finished off the day with a long soak in this warm lake.

An hour of trying to laughing, drinking beer, laughing and drowning while trying to keep the lake out of your beer.

Does it get any better than this?
