Super D and More…

The Kelowna Cycle Kamikaze Super D went off this weekend with cool weather and a bit of rain.  Perfect for this guy.

I didn’t do a whole lot other than drive this time.  It took a lot of runs to help with the 80 or so riders in this year’s event.

Winning time was about 17 minutes for Evan Guthrie, but the big news was Tyler getting the beat down from Sarah.

Full results over at Kelowna Cycle.  Maybe while you’re there you run into this random rocker in the parking lot.  Nice Crocs…

Afterwards, I hooked up with some random riders for some laps on Powers Creek, where the usual mayhem erupted.

Always a show in the Okanagan.

Girls Got Skillz–Day 1

Was the weather going to co-operate?  Or was it just going to rain?

Yay sun!

Another spring, another bunch of ladies out to secure some new skills.  I couple of returning faces this year (like Chris, a couple shots down), but a lot of new ones too.  The progression is wicked to see.  A few years ago the overall level was way lower.

The morning was spent doing a bunch of the basics in the park.  Really fundamental stuff.

The president of the NOCS came down too.

Hanna is the youngest rider to come out on one of our clinics.  She’s only 15, and DRIVEN.  Pretty rad.

Big smiles!

I think we were all smiling after that rad morning, especially with the sunshine.

After lunch we went up to Myra/Bellevue to ride some trail.   There’s still a bit of snow up there.  Good thing we fed the ladies some good food, ‘cause I needed their help to turn the van around…

The weather was a bit sketchier up in the hills, but it was a RAD ride.  Definitely Bush Pilot calibre.

Our lovely crew…

This is actually from last year, but I held off on putting it together until the Ride Guide got their stuff to air. By then it was summer and I was busy, and so here you go, just in time for winter. There’ll be some more from 2010 in a while, but maybe not quite as action packed as this. 2009 was quite exceptional…
