Retallack Legends – 3

I’m not even going to try to top yesterday.  Record setting multiple heli drops?  Yeah, we got it done.

I didn’t make it out to the Legends trip last year, but everything I’ve heard tells me that this we got more riding, with better weather, on better trails, with a much more relaxed and awesome atmosphere.  Schley and Tippie were awesome the whole time, and as always we had a great crew of riders to share the trails with.

Today we got up late, ate a bunch of great food, slayed trails all day, and finished it up with some more great eats with these guys:

I think that pretty much says it all

Retallack Legends – 1

Come on, every weekend at Retallack is legendary.  Although when Tippie and Schley show up I guess you gotta do something to make them feel special.  Wade was supposed to be here too, but a last minute family emergency came up and he couldn’t make it.  Family really does come first, and we all wish his dad a smooth and speedy recovery.

Although maybe not as fast as Richie was going here when he almost took me out on the first trail of the weekend.

The day started off a little bit greasy thanks to some rain we had overnight, but by the second lap things had settled down to the legendary tacky goodness that we expect around here.

Mitch Scott, legendary figure from Kona and Kootenay Mtn. Culture, was also on hand to entertain us.

That’s a legendary crew right there if there ever was one.

By the end of the day everyone was running hot and we stopped in for a session at the Lillyhammer jumps.  Unfortunately for Mitch, the jump after this one didn’t go so well and he took himself out.  What a drag.  At least he looked good here.

This would be 2/3’s of a Tippie.

Not to be outdone, Rylan overshot this gap and slid into home plate on his chest.  Of course, he walked away with only a couple of scratches.  Such are the gifts of youth.

Not a bad start to the weekend for the majority of the gang.   I think folks were holding back a bit, because the forecast for tomorrow includes lots of blue sky and a double heli drop on Reco.
