RMS – 6

That’s a better group pic.  Even if Michael looks like he’s just an extra head grafted on to Doug’s shoulder.

We had a leisurely breakfast today, and rocked on over to Banff and Canmore to see how the trails are there.  Finally saw a grizzly too.  Wrong side of the highway, so no pics, but that meant we had a reasonably complete set of wildlife encounters this trip.

Canmore was just a short ride.  We had a go on the Highline Trail, and everyone got a postcard shot.

I gotta say some really nice things about Carmel here too.  She’s fairly new to the sport, having picked up the bike a lot later than most folks would, and was not all that experienced or confident in her abilities, yet day after day she’s not only survived the rides but has improved dramatically.  People like this are why I love my job.  It doesn’t matter if you’re a high level pro rider or a first timer.  If you’re still actively out there trying to improve yourself and conquer those little battles out there, I’m stoked.

Which sets the stage for tomorrow.  Jumping Pound/Cox Hill here we come!
