The Season Begins…..

…And I am so off the back on updates. What can I say? I’ve been busy.

I had the first customer of the year back on the 3rd. Simon showed up for a clinic, but of course I didn’t bring the camera. I didn’t want to scare him off early, right?

I also had a couple of couch surfers. Josh and John showed up from Colorado Springs and we took pity on them. They just happened to show up during the best run of spring weather Vancouver has ever had. Feels pretty much like summer out there.

Here’s the pics.

…and a classic picture of yours truly. Never do see my face in the pics, do ya?

I’ve got the Easter road trip update tomorrow, and we are off to Williams Lake this weekend. Keep on keepin’ on….

Whitewater Powder

Well, it wasn’t all powder and sunny skies. There was also much drinking and strangeness.

For instance, I’m pretty sure that this is neither natural nor a good idea.

I guess that’s the sort of thing that you see on Bob Marley’s birthday.

Then there’s this. I don’t really know what to make of it, but I figure ya shoudn’t mess with a midget in a pink one piece.

OK, back to the skiing.

Holt in 5 mile.

Safety first.

That’s only because the storm snow all slid off. There was about three miles of crown varying from 40-80 cm thick all around this basin. Luckily we found a few areas that were sheltered from the avvies, but of course I have no pics of that. Too good to stop, eh?

Here’s Heath pretending he knows what he’s doing.

A couple more mediocre backcountry shots and I’m out.

I’ll be the better part of a week before the next update. Barb gets back today after being in the UK for six weeks, so I’l be — ahhh — busy.

Have a Happy Valentines Day.

Christmas, Skiing, and a Car Wreck

While I’m at it, I guess I didn’t tell you a thing about Christmas. Besides all the usual family stuff, there was this…

Not us, but we came around the corner about 30 seconds later. Crazy chick flipped the car at around 110 or 120. NOT A SCRATCH. I think I got more injured on broken glass opening the door than she did. So lucky. Another car length and she was in the river, and it was plenty cold.

Here’s another angle.

And we did a bit of touring. Keeping with the theme of all the other ski pics so far this winter, it’s dark, gloomy and full of freshies. Here’s Barb on the shoulder of Apex.

talk later…….
