Ween (& My B-Day)

OK, OK.

So it’s been a long time between updates. I broke my camera and then just got kind of sidetracked. This one will be a biggie.

Here’s my birthday. Nothing like drinks with the friends while out for a sail.

Funny how dold and grim it was over in the city. NIce, sunny and warm in the Cove.

Then, it was time for WEEN!!

It was a good show, if you know what I mean.

Of course, I was too preoccupied to get into that kind of trouble.

OK, back to the trails.

Here’s a tree that was already tall when Columbus landed.

Oh, wait. I lied. Here’s a couple of Halloween shots.

Barb getting her RDA of …..

Rockets, yeahh.

OK, NOW we can go back to the trails.

Kelly on Fromme with Brodie.

The Cap College Outdoor Recreation Program out for some recreation.

Teaching the girls how to ride over obstacles. We call this “poppin wood.” Their term , not mine.

Ahhhh. The good stuff. Seriously skinny in Williams Lake.

Barb on a bridge, shortly after gashing her crotch (it’s a long story. The highlight is that she ‘clammed’ herself and needed 3 stitches to, uhhhh, you figure it out).

The backside of Desous. This is the end of a trail called Godspeed, which is the raddest trail I rode all year.

Another shot of Godspeed and it’s insane gulley riding.

The infamous Red Shred on Double 0 Soo, getting a little.

I’ve also been doing a ton of riding with the pros just for fun lately. Conditions are still ultra around here. It’s gotten cold enough to freeze at the higher elevations, and it hasn’t been raining a lot so the trails are like velcro.

Some of the best conditions of the year.

There, are ya jealous Dave?

Anyway, I’m going to do an end of the year awards edition of the Bush Pilot Blog soon. Stay tuned….

Mountain Biking with the Bush Pilot

C’mon.

Look at the weather. September and it’s hot and sunny in Vancouver.

Burton got together a few of his buddies (Josh Sarkis, Paul Wetmore, Javed Mufti, Rob Devine, Scotty and Steve Todd) for a good one.

“Your mission today, should you choose to accept it …”

Ok, so it’s not all Hollywood and Rock Stars. Or is it?

This one’s been tilted to make it look flatter.

Hanging it out, Andre’s edge.

More steep and sick.

There ya go. Pick a thousand words. Any thousand. Now look at this shot and try not to choke

Another Triplog Update

So we got Jow to the airport. Somewhat epic, had to drive down from Whistler at 1 am because of road construction. Made for a LONG night and lots of driving so that I could go grab the remaining crew for Squamish.

Here we are about to drop into Blow Out Your Candles

How many fingers is Dave holding up?

Squamish is becoming home to many of the sickest lines in BC. Check out this monster on a trail called Ditch Pig.

….and that’s just the start of it. Should be able to see this one in full action on Drop In soon. I think it’s also featured in the RISE video and in NWD4 when that comes out.

For the second lap we did the usual GK Ripper/19th Hole/Peanut’s/Homebrew/Pseudo Tsuga rip.

Here’s the boys hitting up Homebrew.

Here’s something you won’t see every day. We rode a LOT this week. Here’s Dave’s reaction to the suggestion of a third lap.

Save it for your own records, you may never see Dave this tired again.
