Youth Ride #8

Two months of this already?  Cool.  Cool enough that it’s raining (a little bit).  So let’s pretend that it’s the North Shore, OK?

The gang is getting much more dialled in. Hardly any flat tires tonight (except for Eli’s traditional Skull Coaster one), so as a result I had hardly any excuse to take pics.

Here’s a different angle on the Redemption hit, just because.

Two months in seems like a good excuse for an apres ride bbq, so we did.

Gotta have a Silver Star trip here pretty soon, I think.

Youth Ride #7

Whoa…. A little bit of sun and a teacher’s strike, and we’ve got a good turnout.  13 youths and 5 grownups…and a creek.

That actually seems like a good way to teach people to look ahead and leave room, doesn’t it?

Speaking of which, look out for that tree Mason!

Not everyone had a problem there.

A stellar evening again in the Okangan. We got lots of postcard shots tonight, especially lower down on Southern Dancer.

Can’t miss the jump sesh at the end though, so we backtracked a little and got a final run on the step-up.

Which meant that I was at the top for sunset, and home by 10:30.

Ride, eat, sleep, repeat…

Youth Ride #6

A month and a half of these shenanigans already…wow.   Great turnout tonight, too, with 10 guys out.  Oh, pardon me…9 guys and this shredder:

Although to be fair, Jaelinn, we don’t discriminate on the youth rides.  If you rip, you can hang.

For a short period every year, the light is just right at sunset to backlight the compression jump.  I caught this a few years ago, but the last couple of seasons the weather hasn’t cooperated for us.

Nailed it!

It doesn’t hurt that the crew was hitting this pretty hard.   I guess sessioning the same jumps for a month and a half has some consequences.

Go into the light!

Here’s a sweet bar hump.

And another, this time with some skinny jeans too.

And to make it all the better, this was waiting for us at the bottom.  Thanks, Dave.
