Triplog

Out of date trip info, but here for historical reasons

Youth Ride #2

Ride #2 is done.  We took a couple of minutes at the rock face on Rusty for a few guys to try it out.

I think they figured it out.

Now we just need to work on getting some of them to pull off the trail when they stop, and we should be able to get into some harder trails soon.

We at least bought some good trail karma tonight, as the gang helped pull a decent sized tree out of the way that had fallen on Squirrel. Nice job, boys!

Mother’s Devinci Demo Day

Not that my Mom came out to play, but Devinci was in town for Mothers Day and it was a good one.

That’s a lot of Devincis on the roof of the van.

There were a couple of moms in attendance though.  Barb came out to have a lap on a new Troy.

Enough scenery.  On to the action, which is almost all from the course of the 1st BC Enduro next weekend.

Josh (not on a Devinci…) looks ready to rock the junior category.

Barb on her first ride on 650b.

Classic Okanagan butt shot…

Another good’r of Josh dropping in on Slabs.

Paul was just in town for a visit, and sort of fell in to a day of shuttles and test bikes.  Some guys have all the luck.

Of course no day in the Mice is complete without a quick session on the Redemption stepup.

Round two and we took a fast one into Drops a Lot, dragging Devinci tech guy Mitch Forbes along with us.

The flowers are peaking today.   Quite the Mother’s Day bouquet.

A quick finish in the Tsweet Tsu gully…

And the sun sets on this fine day.

Thanks again to Devinci Bikes for coming by.

Freedom Youth Rides

Spring is here and the youth rides have started.

I actually thought I was going to miss out on the first one this year.  After three big laps with the stag on the weekend I had a very sort wrist (tendonitis is the scourge of the mountain bike lifer…), to the point that I couldn’t hold on to the handlebar.  Luckily my friend Dave has a pharmacy in Kelowna, and hooked me up with some magic ointment.  Unbelievable.  Good as new in minutes.

Anyway, we have a mix of kids that have been with us for the past couple of years, and some new faces.    Everyone shreds, which is always good.

As always, things turned into a sunset session at the Redemption step up.  Boys and their bikes…

There’s also a beginner group starting now.  Linette took the new kids over to the high school for some skills work before they go out to the woods.  Looks like they’re having a good time too.

If you want to join the gang, you can register at Freedom Bike Shop in Penticton.
