Excellent North Shore Adventures

It’s a travel day, but the sun is out and there’s bunnies everywhere on the Shore.

Not only is it a great day to ride, but it’s also Wade’s Excellent Adventure (a mystery route race on Fromme), and I’ve got a date to sell Barb’s old V-Tach.

First we had to go for a test ride, so I met up with the buyer at a secret location and headed up to Floppy Bunny for a lap.

Heidi stroked that bike up the hill easily, and then proceeded to slay the Bunny.  Hard to believe she’s only been off-roading for a few weeks.

While we were out, the old spidey sense started tingling.  I can’t go for a ride on the Shore without finding at least one new trail…

We have a buyer!

Barb will miss the V-Tach, but it’s clearly found a nice new home.  Heidi will be making lots of new friends, I think.

So now I was free to head up for the final lap of the race, which as it turned out was a run on a freshly refurbished Ladies Only with Arthur and Monica.

Thanks for all the hard work, Digger.  Also ran into Sarah and Jessamy.  Jess was stalled, so Sarah hit the restart button.

Good to see the ole’ Brown Fish Jumpers out competing and taking home the hardware.

Not as good to see that Tippie had a bullhorn. He still managed to lose his voice, though.

For gods sake, put a shirt on man.

Oh, and then I found out it was Chaz’s 50th birthday.  Seriously, that little hairbag there is a half century.  Way to go, bro.

Shock Monkey SSC – Day 5

Last day on the Coast, and it’s… NOT RAINING!

Well, it rained a little bit in the morning, but overall it’s a pretty nice day out.  We’re already the wettest tour I’ve done, and it looks like this may continue in the Okanagan, but for now we’re going to enjoy our last day here.

Not a ton of pics to show you.  I spent most of the day with the GoPro camera, chasing the Monkeys down their favourite tracks.  Pressure Drop, the DH, and of course DMZ to Black Shower.

You’ll have to wait a bit, but I’ll edit the footie up for you to enjoy soon.

Oh, and we hooked up with some special guests today too.  Who is that rock star?  Looks like some kind of Radical Freak to me…

Shock Monkey SSC – Day 4

Rain delay, please stand by.

At least the Gumboot has lots of coffee.  After trying to wait it out, we gave in and went out to get really, really wet.

As I like to say, I don’t mind being wet, I just don’t like getting wet.  However, it made for some interesting conditions for taking pics.

Some pretty sweet effects with the fill flash and long exposures.

Plus I got to see a bunch of trails I wouldn’t normally ride.

Nice elbows.

This is a line called Up & Over.  Nice old school BC style.

After lunch we went out and pounded some more DH laps.

Well, at least it’s authentic BC weather.  The Monkeys are getting the full experience.  June-yu-ary style.
