Last Call – 2

Or as it’s called around home, “My Birthday.”  The plan was for a Powerslave, but since there was a solid 18” of new snow up top, we decided to shuttle it from Morning Mtn. Not once…not twice…but three times.

You can see the snow up around Whitewater in the background, and the first skiff on the ground here on the approach through the clearcut.  It wasn’t melting.

It’s Thursday though, and the crew was wound right up as always.

Also ran into Kirt and Lindsey Voreis doing some filming.  Forgot to grab a shot for ya, as I was busy picking myself up after sliding into home plate on one of the greasy bridges in Bears Den.

They were still there on round 2.  They must have run that section a hundred times or more in the three days they shot.

We just kept smashing laps.

Dave’s brother even came out for run #3 with us.

That’s a LOT of Freedom jerseys in the Kootenays.

Back at the lodge, there was another unreal meal (love yer balls, Amber), and chocolate cake, and this super cool card from the Retallack family.

Thanks tons.  I hardly feel a day over 43…but I am.

Retallack Ladies 2

Chocolate croissant?

Yes, the day 2 shenanigans started bright and early at the lodge today. Christine and her sexy legs are the result.  Those aren’t bruises, they’re souvenirs.

It was a slightly gloomy day on Idaho Peak, but that made for excellent trail conditions.

Steep and slick it may have been, but the ladies were killin’ it all day out there.

After another session in the park, a finishing lap on the Kessel right to the beach in front of the lodge was the call.

Can you feel the heat?

Cat Sass 2012 – 1

Hey Ladies!  Get funky….

Time for another round of shredder chicks at Retallack Lodge, and what better way to get the ball rolling than a set of brand new tires for everyone compliments of Specialized.

This is one of those skills camps, so the morning was spent in a skills session, getting everyone centered.  After lunch, it was time to check out the new and improved trails off of Robb Ridge.

Improved they are.  There’s a full 3000’ drop right out of the back of the lodge, and it’s got plenty of cool goods to shred.  Here’s Lorraine demo’ing a drop in with her custom spec Specialized Demo.

Inspired, Gen takes a run at the same.

Lorraine’s sister Sarah demonstrates how radness runs in the family.

Mallory from Clif Bars was first to shred the berms.

Followed by Suzanne,

Gen,

Sarah,

…and of course the incomparable Lindsey Voreis, who always NAILS the shot.

Sweet lineup (or pileup) of riders for this weekend.  Looks like a great time to Occupy Bike Trails.
