Still The Champ

It’s been something like ten years since Barb turned a pedal in anger.  Back around the turn of the century, she couldn’t be beat, especially on the old DH course at Silverstar.  Well, she thought she’d dive into the hardtail class at this past weekend’s BC Cup race, and guess what?

Yeah, although it has to be said that she was the only one in the HT category.  Still, it’s not like she was slow.  It was awesome to see Barb charging hard for the finish line again.  Chev’s and I almost missed it due to being held up by a local photog.

Chevy is looking for her Mom, ‘cause we just heard Tippie announcing her name as the first racer on course.

Overwhelmed with emotion accepting Mom’s win…

To cap it off, another freekin’ double rainbow to go with the epic lightning storm.

Puddle Peel Out – 3

What a place to wake up.  Too bad I’m not gonna get a ride today.  With 2 gravity events on tap, I’m gonna have to drive all day long.  Yeah..I know.  I have it SOOOOOO tough.

Speaking of tough guys, check out these hombres:

That’s for all the money.   The PRO DH, with the Cariboo style shotgun start.  Here’s a vid to demonstrate…

With the rides over (no, I have no idea who won…), it was back to the lake.  Just in time for some lake jumps.

…and some shotski’s.  More hilarity ensued, including more folks falling into fires, but as that’s sort of embarrasing I’ll just keep those pics for myself.

Puddle Peel Out – 2

Well, well, well.  Look what the cat dragged in.  That looks like one Brant Lyon to me.  thanks for bringing some nice weather, dude.

Yes…yes we are.   Erryday.

I was very, very busy today shuttling racers up to the top of Fox for their runs.  I lost count, but at least 12 laps.  And I didn’t get to ride any of them.  I did, however, manage to royally tick off a local.  She spat on my truck…see?

She was SO mad, I initially thought she was someone I knew taking the piss.  Turns out, nope.  Road rage is alive and well in the Cariboo.  I was turning around, but I guess not fast enough for some.  It’s not her fault.  Her trailer has been outgassing for years, and the fumes have finally taken their toll.

No worries.  At least Nelly wasn’t late for her winning run.  Here she is getting her medal.

Then it was time for the jump jam, judged by the all star Peanut Gallery of Red Shred, James Doerfling, and Ian Hylands.  I saw various scores held up like ‘6’, ‘B’, and ’Play some AC/DC’.

The next two are guys tossing up some 3’s. They are NOT going backwards.

At least I got done early enough to crack off a lap on Master’s new trail, Backdoor.  Yes, I rode Chris’s Backdoor.  Don’t judge me, it was fun.

This is Gustav on one of the signature moves.

Oh, and our old pal Super T too.

It’s great to see Super T any time.  I think Aja agrees.  She seemed pretty stoked on the high level of “man candy” in the Puddle.
