Ski Season…Done

Everyone seems to have decided that this year was a bust for skiing.

Well, I guess it started a bit slow.

Admittedly, there was a bit of a drought mid-season where it didn’t snow much at all.  I found something fun to do.

There was also enough sporadic snowfall to keep things freshened up enough to keep me from total boredom.

Also, the competitive side of the sport reveled in the conditions.

It seemed like a province wide phenomenon, as I found on some road tripping to Revelstoke…

..and also in Retallack.

Thus I finished the season off not with a whimper, but with a bang.  Like always.  Also, Tippie.

That was awesome, but there’s now a good 7 months or so of biking to get ready for.

Revy Racing – 2

Day 2 and we’re still kicking ass.  I went out a bit last night, but nothing major.  We packed ‘er in at midnight so we could ski today.  We all worked hard to get the race over with early, and then (after Jesse won), we went up top.

First thing we saw was this guy dropping in off the sub-peak.

Nice turns. Now for a touristy shot of Tomas.

..and now for an action shot of same.

Even a day after a dump, it’s reasonably deep everywhere.

Tom laid down some fun lines.

Plus, he stopped to grab a few shots of me, which is always an ego boost (not like I need it)…

Wish I could spend a bit more time here, but such is life.  Back to the sunny Okanagan for more of the same…

Revy Racing -1

Now that I’m a big time (read: not) coach, I get to do paid road trips.

So here’s what I did today.  Stood around the base of a massive mountain and helped the next generation of ski racer get the job done.

OK, it was pretty fun.  I managed to get a couple of runs in and our team kicked ass.

Besides, can you feel the Stoke?
